Frequently asked questions — enterprise data recovery
Do you sign an NDA before we send the devices?
Yes, always. We sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) before receiving any device. Our commitment to information security is backed by ISO 27001 certification. All data is handled in encrypted environments and certified secure erasure is performed after delivery.
Can you recover a RAID 5 server where two disks have failed?
Yes, in most cases. RAID 5 tolerates one failed disk, but when two fail the array becomes inaccessible. Our process involves cloning all disks individually (including the failed ones, with DeepSpar), reconstructing the virtual array offline by determining the stripe size and order, and extracting the data. The success rate depends on the condition of the failed disks, but exceeds 85% in our laboratory.
How long does the urgent pickup take?
For companies with urgent service, pickup is completed within 24 hours across mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands. In Barcelona and the metropolitan area, same-day pickup is available if requested before 14:00. Shipments include professional anti-static packaging and real-time tracking.
Do you recover VMware ESXi or Hyper-V virtual machines?
Yes. We recover VMFS datastores from VMware ESXi and Hyper-V volumes with VHD/VHDX files. The process involves first recovering the underlying storage (RAID, SAN, NAS), mounting the hypervisor file system and extracting each VM's virtual disks. We also recover Proxmox (ZFS, LVM) and XenServer.
What happens if the diagnosis determines recovery is not possible?
You pay nothing. Our policy is transparent: free diagnosis with no obligation. If after analysis we determine that recovery is not viable (e.g. scratched platters or encryption without key), we return your devices at no cost.
Our server uses BitLocker / LUKS encryption. Is recovery possible?
Yes, as long as you have the recovery key (BitLocker 48-digit recovery key or LUKS passphrase). We first reconstruct the RAID array and then unlock the encrypted volume with the key you provide. Without the encryption key, recovery is technically infeasible regardless of the physical condition of the disks.
Do you work with public administrations and public tenders?
Yes. We are registered as a Public Administration supplier and have experience with minor contracts and tenders. We issue invoices with itemised VAT, secure destruction certificates and all documentation required for public expenditure justification.
